SEND Provisions
All children and young people are entitled to an education that is appropriate to their needs, promotes high standards and the fulfilment of potential
(SEND Code of Practice 2014).
At Fleetville, we are committed to providing an inclusive learning environment where every child receives the support they need to reach their full potential and truly thrive, both academically and socially. We recognise that children learn at different rates and possess a unique profile as a learner. Therefore, our support is designed to celebrate individual strengths while understanding and working on removing any barriers to learning.
The foundation of our approach is high-quality, inclusive classroom teaching, often referred to as 'ordinarily available provision'. Our teachers use adaptive teaching strategies to ensure that any gaps in knowledge are identified and actively plugged. This involves regular formative assessments, varying the pace of activities, and utilising specialised scaffolding so that every pupil can progress from their individual starting points.
To foster independence, classrooms feature adaptive technology and tools alongside visual learning frameworks. These tools range from assistive technology, digital learning aids to physical resources like writing slopes and concentration aids—are. These are integrated into everyday lessons to empower children to access the curriculum confidently and independently.

Support for Parents
Children assessed as having a special educational need or disability (SEND) may receive additional SEN support in school. (See SEN Information report for more details). Parents and carers are invited to attend additional SEN support meetings each term to review and plan provision. In addition, children have individual pupil passports which are updated termly

Hertfordshire Local Offer
There are a number of organisations in Hertfordshire which support parents of children with additional needs. In the Local Offer, Hertfordshire County Council sets out information of the services available in the local area for parents, children and young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs and disabilities.

DSPL7 DSPL is a Hertfordshire-wide partnership approach where parents, carers, staff in early years settings and schools, further education colleges, local authority officers and representatives from other agencies, work together as part of an Area Group, to ensure that there is a range of provision and support services available in their local community.

Support Groups and Charities
ADD-vance
ADD-vance was founded in Hertfordshire in 1996. They provide specialist information, training and advice for professionals as well as support for children, adult and families on issues relating to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism.
Their service is confidential, supportive, non-judgemental and tailored to individual needs. It is a family centred service which empowers the parent to take control, help the child reach full potential and enable the family to thrive.
H.A.N.D.
If your child has additional needs, you can register them on the Hertfordshire Additional Needs Database (HAND).
A membership card will be issued to HAND members, which can help in getting assistance and understanding for your child in many different situations. Some leisure providers have agreed to give concessions to families who have a membership card.

KIDS is a national charity providing a wide range of services for disabled children, young people and their families across seven English regions.
Special Educational Needs and Disability Information Advice and Support Services (SENDIASS)
The Information, Advice and Support Service (formerly Parent Partnership Service) provides impartial and confidential information, advice and support to parents and carers of children with SEND and to young people and children with SEND.
